Bhubaneswar, March 24 -- A woman was allegedly murdered and her body set on fire in Odisha's Deogarh district on Monday. Police detained her husband and launched an investigation into the incident.
The incident took place in Malarbahal village under the jurisdiction of Kundheigola Police Station. A half-burnt body of the woman was recovered from a location some distance away from her house.
Police suspect that after the murder, an attempt was made to destroy evidence by setting the body ablaze.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmipriya Sahoo, the wife of Jasobant Sahoo.
