Bhubaneswar, June 3 -- Tension gripped Kadapada village under Parjang police station limits in Odisha's Dhenkanal district on Tuesday after a woman was allegedly assaulted during a campaign against the sale of liquor in the area. The incident triggered widespread outrage, prompting hundreds of women to stage a protest at the local police station, demanding action against the accused.

According to reports, women and youths of the village had launched an initiative to curb the alleged sale of liquor in the locality. As part of the campaign, a group of villagers approached a house on Tuesday and questioned a person over the alleged liquor trade.
