Bhubaneswar, May 31 -- A wild elephant was spotted wandering through the GA Colony area of Bharatpur in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, raising concerns about human-elephant conflict in the city.

The animal's presence created tension among residents, who promptly informed forest authorities. Teams from the Forest Department reached the site and launched operations to prevent the elephant from venturing further into the residential area.

Preliminary reports suggest that the elephant may have strayed from the nearby Chandaka forest in search of food. Forest officials are closely tracking its movement and guiding it safely back to its natural habitat.
