Bhubaneswar, June 22 -- The investigation into the mob assault of a young woman and man in Odisha's Rayagada district was officially transferred to the Integrated Unit for Crime Against Women (IUCAW) on Monday.

Additional Director General of Crime Against Women and Children Wing (CAW&CW), S. Shyni confirmed the administrative shift. She said that every possible legal step will be taken to ensure strict punishment for those found guilty and that no accused individual will be spared.

The high-priority case, which is classified under the Red Flag category, saw the total number of arrests rise to 23 following continued crackdowns.
