West Bengal government raises upper age limit for recruitment to government jobs
Bhubaneswar, May 18 -- In a significant move for job aspirants, the Government of West Bengal has officially raised the upper age limit for applying to various government positions across the state. The notification, issued by the Finance Department's Audit Branch of the West Bengal Government from Nabanna, Howrah, comes into effect from 11th May 2026.
According to the notification, the upper age limits for recruitment to different groups of posts have been revised as follows:
Group 'A' posts: The upper age limit has been increased to 41 years. However, where the existing upper age limit for any post or service already exceeds 41 years, the higher age limit will remain unchanged.
