Bhubaneswar, Sept. 28 -- A bus plunged into a pond near Nuagaon under Khuard panchayat in Jaleswar block of Balasore district of Odisha On Monday, triggering a rescue effort at the spot.

The vehicle with a West Bengal registration number, reportedly went off the road and entered the pond. It soon became completely submerged, leaving the occupants in the water.

Around five passengers were pulled out safely following the accident. However, there was no immediate clarity on whether the bus was carrying more people.

With the bus still under water, local residents gathered near the pond and began looking for any other occupants who might have remained trapped inside. The possibility of more passengers being inside the submerged bus has not ...
