Vessel survives gunfire near Strait of Hormuz, reaches Odisha's Paradip with 2 million barrels of crude oil
Bhubaneswar, July 2 -- An oil tanker carrying a massive cargo of crude oil arrived at the Paradip Port on Wednesday. The ship reached Odisha after surviving gunfire near Iranian waters.
Amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the vessel, MT Sanmar Herald, completed its voyage to Odisha after navigating through the volatile Strait of Hormuz checkpoint.
As per reports, the vessel transported approximately 2 million barrels of Basra Medium and Basra Heavy crude oil sourced from Iraq. During its travel through the high-risk zone, the tanker suddenly came under attack with active gunfire near the Strait of Hormuz.
