Vedanta moves SC over Rs 5,600 crore OMC demand in bauxite pricing dispute
India, Oct. 6 -- The long-running bauxite pricing dispute between Vedanta Ltd and Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has taken a fresh turn, with OMC seeking around Rs 5,600 crore from the aluminium major.
The development comes after the Orissa High Court rejected Vedanta's plea linked to the old pricing arrangement.
Dispute Traces Back To 2004 Agreement
OMC has issued a demand and intimation letter to Vedanta Ltd, with the amount reportedly due by October 31, 2026, according to two people familiar with the matter, as reported by Mint.
