Bhubaneswar, Oct. 16 -- Two workers from Odisha's Ganjam district were killed after a crane fell on them at an under-construction building near Guntur in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. Three other Odia labourers sustained critical injuries in the same incident.

The deceased have been identified as Santosh Kumar Pradhan and K. Shiva. Both were married and had a son each. They were also the sole earning members of their respective families.

The deaths left the families facing financial uncertainty, with relatives seeking help from the local administration. They demanded ex-gratia assistance, along with funds to perform the last rites and bring the bodies back to their native village.
