Bhubaneswar, July 12 -- Two people lost their lives and another sustained critical injuries in two separate hit-and-run accidents reported in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over rising road accidents in the smart city.

The fatal mishaps occurred at the CRP Square Overbridge and in the Tamando area while police officials are conducting investigations into both incidents.

In the first incident, an unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed into two youths on the CRP Square overbridge. The impact of the collision proved fatal for one of them, while the other suffered serious injuries. The deceased has been identified as Soumya Ranjan Mana, a resident of West Bengal.
