Bhubaneswar, May 15 -- Two engineering students were killed and five others sustained critical injuries after a SUV collided head-on with a truck near Chandaka area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar late on Thursday night.

According to reports, a total of seven persons were travelling in the SUV when the accident took place. The vehicle was reportedly moving through the Chandaka-Bhola stretch when it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portion of the SUV was completely mangled, trapping several passengers inside the vehicle. Locals and commuters who reached the spot immediately after the accident alerted police and emergency services.
