Bhubaneswar, Oct. 14 -- Two drivers sustained serious injuries after two hywa trucks collided head-on on State Highway 63 in the Kankarei forest area along the Angul-Chhendipada road on Wednesday.

According to reports, a coal-laden Hywa truck travelling from the Chhendipada mines collided with a chip-laden Hywa truck heading towards Chhendipada from Dhenkanal near Kankarei Nala. The impact was so severe that it left the front portions of both the vehicles completely mangled.

Local residents immediately rescued the injured drivers following the collision. After receiving the information, Nisha Industrial Police reached the accident site and launched an investigation into the incident.
