Bhubaneswar, Feb. 25 -- Tourism has emerged as a major focus area in the Union Budget 2026-27, with Odisha positioned to benefit significantly from new eco-tourism and regional connectivity initiatives. Recognising tourism as a key driver of employment and inclusive growth, the Centre has underlined its strong economic contribution-accounting for 5.22% of India's GDP (total impact) and supporting 13.34% of total employment, according to the India Tourism Data Compendium 2025.
