Bhubaneswar, April 7 -- A truck carrying rice overturned on a ghat road in Odisha's Koraput district, causing major traffic disruptions on National Highway 26, a key inter-state route connecting Raipur and Visakhapatnam. Passengers were stranded for several hours as the incident led to the complete blockade of the road.

The accident occurred late on Monday night, with the truck overturning while navigating a U-turn on the Sunki-Salur ghat road, a stretch known for its sharp bends and challenging terrain. As a result, the Raipur-Visakhapatnam road was completely blocked from 3 a.m. onwards, leaving a large number of passenger buses and trucks stranded on both sides of the road.
