Transport department intensifies crackdown on unfit vehicles; Cuttack-Berhampur bus seized
Bhubaneswar, July 7 -- The Odisha Transport Department intensified its enforcement drive against vehicles operating without valid fitness certificates, permits, and insurance by carrying out surprise inspections across the state. As part of the special drive, a passenger bus travelling from Cuttack to Berhampur was seized on Monday after it was found allegedly operating without a valid fitness certificate.
The department said the campaign is aimed at identifying vehicles violating mandatory safety and documentation norms and ensuring only roadworthy vehicles operate on public roads.
