Bhubaneswar, April 26 -- A man went missing after allegedly drowning in the Mahanadi river near Paradip Choumuhani on Sunday morning while fishing, with search operations continuing at the time of reporting.
According to information, the incident occurred when the man was pulling a fishing net in the river along with another individual. The missing person has been identified as Mahendra Sethi of Paradipgarh village, who is said to be in his sixties.
It is suspected that he slipped and drowned while they were fishing in chest-deep water. His companion stated that the incident happened suddenly, leaving no time for any rescue attempt.
