Bhubaneswar, June 6 -- The Commissionerate Police arrested three drug peddlers and seized 19 grams of brown sugar during a raid in the Maitri Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

The operation was carried out by Maitri Vihar Police after receiving information about an alleged brown sugar deal taking place on the Utkal Hospital Road. Police intercepted the accused before the contraband could be supplied to customers.

According to police, 19 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the possession of the accused. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth more than Rs 2 lakh.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Jhadeswar Nayak alias Shambhu, Maguni Behera and Gopikishan Rao. All three are reported to be residents of the ...
