Bhubaneswar, June 3 -- India's first high-speed rail corridor achieved another major construction milestone with the successful breakthrough of the third mountain tunnel (MT-07) in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The 417-metre-long and 14.4-metre-wide tunnel at Ambesari village in Dahanu Taluka is designed to carry both up and down tracks of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor.

The breakthrough reflects the rapid pace of work on the project, with three mountain tunnels completed in Maharashtra within just five months.
