Bhubaneswar, Oct. 9 -- Tension prevailed at the Pattamundai Block office in Odisha's Kendrapara on Friday after BJD workers locked the premises over allegations of arbitrary functioning by the Block Development Officer (BDO). Meanwhile, the BJP workers broke open the lock and entered the office.

The incident followed a dispute over a government programme scheduled to be held on the Block premises. BJD-backed elected representatives alleged that they were not informed about the programme and accused the BDO of functioning at his own discretion.
