Bhubaneswar, Oct. 2 -- Tension erupted at Chilika in Satapada in Odisha's Puri on Friday over the transportation of vehicles on the ferry. Following the incident, ferry services were completely suspended and the ferry's entry gate was locked amid the situation.

The incident took place in the morning when a dispute broke out among passengers over taking buses and bikes on the ferry from Satapada. Agitated passengers allegedly locked the main gate and vandalised a bus, leaving it stranded inside.

Following the incident, ferry movement in Chilika came to a complete halt. The disruption affected the transportation of passengers and vehicles through the ferry service.
