Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- The death toll of Odia workers in the Tamil Nadu gas leak tragedy has risen to seven, with two more workers succumbing to their injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the southern state.

One of the deceased has been identified as Sajani Juang of Kodipasa village under Jamunijuang area in Keonjhar district. The latest deaths have heightened concerns among families of injured workers, several of whom continue to battle for life in hospitals.

Amid grief and anxiety, the bodies of five deceased workers are expected to be brought to Odisha on Tuesday. Officials from Odisha, who have been coordinating with the Tamil Nadu administration since the incident, are overseeing the transportation process.
