Bhubaneswar, Aug. 17 -- Rakhi Purnima this year will bring a financial boost for more than one crore women in Odisha as the state government is set to disburse the fifth instalment under the Subhadra scheme on August 28.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Monday announced that beneficiaries will receive the Subhadra money on Raksha Purnima, with the disbursement scheduled to take place during a state-level ceremony in Nayagarh.

The announcement is expected to bring relief to thousands of women awaiting the next instalment under the flagship welfare scheme. The fifth instalment will be credited to eligible beneficiaries as part of the scheduled disbursement.
