India, Oct. 6 -- Odisha Police administration adopted a strict approach on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming student union elections. Police DG Vinaytosh Mishra said non-students will remain under close surveillance to prevent any unwanted incidents during the election process.

According to the DGP, all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been directed to keep a strict watch on non-students in connection with the polls. The move is aimed at ensuring that outsiders do not create disturbances or interfere with the voting process on college campuses.
