Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Strong winds and intermittent rain have affected several areas along Chilika. Tidal water entered the village roads of Arakhakuda and Sanapatana. The water has risen to knee level in parts of the two villages, while waves continue to break along the roads.

The weather conditions have also damaged fishing boats kept along the Chilika shore. Several boats belonging to fishermen from Mangal Sahi and Laxmi Narayan Sahi in Arakhakuda have been affected by the strong winds and tidal waves.
