Bhubaneswar, July 7 -- A fresh incident of stray dog attack has triggered panic among residents of Sanakhemundi in Odisha's Ganjam district. A Class 1 student was reportedly bitten by a stray dog inside the premises of Maa Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir at Mahanala under Patapur police limits on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the young girl had gone to the backside of the school premises. The dog suddenly attacked her and bit her, leaving her injured. Hearing her cries, teachers, school staff, and local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the student.

She was immediately taken to the nearby Adapada Community Health Centre, where she was provided medical treatment.
