Stolen from Puri: Police return over 300 mobile phones to rightful owners in Bhubaneswar
India, July 20 -- The police have recovered and returned more than 300 stolen or lost mobile phones in a mela to their rightful owners, with most of the seized devices reportedly linked to thefts in Puri. Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh said on Monday that an accused allegedly stole some mobile phones from Puri before travelling to Bhubaneswar to leave for West Bengal.
In connection with the mobile theft cases, police have arrested the person from West Bengal. The recovery of such a large number of stolen phones has raised concerns about the possible involvement of an organised mobile theft racket operating across districts.
