Bhubaneswar, March 3 -- A chaotic situation unfolded in Puri on the occasion of Dola Purnima as an overwhelming crowd of devotees gathered near the Srimandir on Tuesday. As per initial reports, pushing and shoving broke out near the Dolabedi area due to the heavy rush on the occasion of Dola Purnima.

The situation reportedly worsened as the crowd became difficult to manage. Sources said that a few devotees sustained injuries in the commotion.

The massive turnout of pilgrims for the festival led to an uncontrollable surge, creating panic among those present at the temple premises.
