Bhubaneswar, May 19 -- PuriSrimandir administration sought immediate intervention from authorities in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday over the proposed observance of an untimely Rath Yatra. The administration urged that the festival and related rituals be conducted only on the prescribed traditional dates.

Srimandir Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee wrote to the concerned District Magistrate, appealing for the cancellation of the proposed Netrotsav and Rath Yatra events scheduled ahead of the traditional calendar.

According to reports, a poster was circulated announcing the observance of Netrotsav on June 13 and Rath Yatra on June 14. The events are being organised by the local Bhagwan Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra Seva Samiti in Uttar Pradesh....
