Bhubaneswar, May 3 -- Fresh allegations emerged in connection with the death of a B.Tech first-year student at a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar's Sikharchandi area. The family accused the institution of negligence and harassment, while the college denied the claims.

The mother of the deceased student alleged that her son was subjected to ragging and mental harassment at the college. She further claimed that he was not eating at the hostel canteen due to fear and was instead surviving on sattu and food ordered from outside.
