Shodasha puja at Puri Srimandir to start with grand Sahasra Kumbhabhishek ritual at Maa Bimala shrine
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3 -- The 16-day Shodasha Puja will begin at the PuriSrimandir from Saturday with the Sahasra Kumbhabhishek at the shrine of Maa Bimala. The special worship commences on Ashwina Krishna Ashtami, also known as Mulashtami, and continues until Ashwina Shukla Navami.
The rituals during this period will include special worship of Maa Bimala, along with arrangements for priests and other servitors associated with the puja. According to the Srimandir rules, women will not be allowed to enter the Maa Bimala temple during the 16-day period.
The Shodasha Puja will be observed for 16 days from Mulashtami to Ashwina Shukla Navami. The Sahasra Kumbhabhishek marks the beginning of the rituals at the Maa Bimala shrine.
