Bhubaneswar, June 28 -- Security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, explosives and ammunition on Sunday, allegedly hidden by Maoists in the forests under Kalimela police limits of Malkangiri district.

The seizure was made during a search operation in Guntabeda and Kadamguda forest areas, marking another significant breakthrough in the anti-Maoist campaign.

According to police sources, the operation was launched by the District Voluntary Force (DVF) based on intelligence inputs and information provided by surrendered Maoists.
