Bhubaneswar, July 9 -- Security concerns resurfaced at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri ahead of Rath Yatra after a drone was spotted flying over the shrine and around the sacred Neelachakra for an extended period on Thursday morning.

According to reports, the drone hovered over the temple for a considerable time, capturing photographs and videos from different angles. Witnesses said the unmanned aerial vehicle was seen flying above the Neelachakra at times, while on other occasions it circled the temple premises.

Acting swiftly, a special security team tracked down the operator and detained him near Mangu Math in Mati Mandap Sahi, close to the temple. The accused has been identified as Jayakrishna Mondal from Kolkata.
