Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 -- All schools in Odisha's Bargarh will remain closed on Monday in view of heavy rainfall.

The decision was taken by Bargarh District Collector Aditya Goyal following the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) red warning for the district.

According to the IMD, Bargarh is likely to face extremely heavy rainfall which prompted the district administration to take precautionary measures.

The district education department informed schools about the decision and directed them to remain closed for the day.

The decision was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff and avoid inconvenience amid the heavy rainfall.
