Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Students of Dhumat Sevashram School in Odisha's Kendrapada district locked the school gate and staged a protest on Friday, demanding the reinstatement of suspended headmistress Rosatabala Mahapatra.

Mahapatra was suspended over allegations of disobeying departmental orders. Following her suspension, Kunu Priyadarshini Behera was appointed as the new headmistress of the school.

Behera arrived at the school to assume charge following her appointment. However, the protesting students blocked her entry and insisted that Mahapatra be reinstated.
