Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- An encroachment eviction drive is underway in Modipada area of Sambalpur, Odisha, with the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation removing illegal structures built by blocking roads and drains. The drive is being carried out in the presence of enforcement officials, who are overseeing the demolition of structures found to be obstructing public spaces.

The civic body has taken up the drive after encroachments along roads and drains reportedly created problems for both traffic movement and water drainage in the area. Several structures that had occupied portions of roads and blocked drains are being removed as part of the ongoing action.
