Bhubaneswar, March 23 -- Congress on Monday approached the Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy seeking the disqualification of MLA Ramesh Jena, formally submitting an application in this regard.
A delegation of State Congress leaders met the Speaker Padhy and placed their demand for the cancellation of Jena's membership. The memorandum was submitted by Rama Chandra Kadam, Bhakta Das and CS Razen Ekka.
In a related development, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader also wrote a letter to the Speaker on Monday, requesting the disqualification of the suspended Congress MLA.
Party sources said that similar applications had earlier been submitted seeking the disqualification of Sofia Firdous and Dasarathi Gomango. The latest move is part of...
