Bhubaneswar, June 28 -- The arrest of Dharanidhar Sahu, owner of Biraja Electricals, in connection with the alleged LED street lighting scam in Jajpur district has triggered widespread public debate, with demands for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities and the role of officials involved in awarding contracts.

According to allegations, Sahu, who reportedly worked as a meter reader around two decades ago, went on to build a business empire worth crores of rupees.
