Rs 42,00,00,000 fertiliser push: Odisha govt clears major cooperative scheme; details to know
Bhubaneswar, June 29 -- The Odisha government has approved a Rs 42 crore scheme to help cooperative societies store fertilisers in advance and ensure farmers get timely supplies during the agricultural season. The move is aimed at improving fertiliser distribution across the state while reducing the chances of black marketing and illegal diversion.
The scheme, "Interest subvention on cash credit loan for prepositioning of fertilizer," was approved following the direction of the Standing Finance Committee (SFC) headed by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Cooperation Department. The Finance Department has also given its yes for implementation from the current financial year.
