Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- A data entry operator working at the office of the SCB Medical College and Hospital Superintendent in Odisha's Cuttack was arrested on Friday in connection with an alleged financial irregularity involving Rs 1.40 crore.

The accused was arrested by Mangalabag police following a complaint lodged by the SCB Superintendent over alleged manipulation of salary-related data of medical college employees.

According to reports, data and work related to the salaries of employees at the medical college were being managed through the data entry operator. An audit report subsequently found alleged discrepancies and tampering in the salary-related data.
