Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- A high-end rooftop swimming pool, multiple luxury properties, and over Rs 5 lakh in cash were uncovered by OdishaVigilance officials following the arrest of a senior engineer on corruption charges.

Prasanna Kumar Pattnaik, the Executive Engineer of the Rural Development Department (RWD-I) in Rayagada, was caught red-handed late on Tuesday night while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a commercial contractor.

Pattnaik was officially scheduled to retire from government service in less than a week, on 30 June 2026.
