Bhubaneswar, March 13 -- Residents staged a road blockade near Gariapur in Odisha's Jajpur district on Friday, alleging non-availability of LPG cylinders despite being called by distributors to collect their allotment. The protest disrupted traffic in the area for some time.

Hundreds of local residents participated in the agitation, placing empty cooking gas cylinders on the road as a mark of protest against the supply shortage.

According to residents, gas distributors had been calling them for the past four days to collect their share of LPG cylinders. However, when people reached the distribution point and waited for their turn, they were reportedly unable to obtain a cylinder.
