Bhubaneswar, July 4 -- A man was allegedly beaten to death, and three of his family members sustained injuries in Mallikmunda village under Patnagarh Police Station limits in Odisha's Bolangir district on Friday. The accused allegedly attacked the family while they were asleep in what is suspected to be a revenge attack linked to a rejected marriage proposal.

The deceased has been identified as Binod Sahu. His wife, son, and daughter were also injured in the assault. The accused, identified as Surendra Sahu, reportedly absconded after the incident.
