Reduce maternal, infant mortality: Odisha CM directs Health department
India, Oct. 9 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has stressed the need to reduce maternal, infant and newborn mortality in the state. He has directed the Health Department to take campaign-based measures to bring down the death rates.
The directions were issued during a 'Prayas' meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, where the Chief Minister reviewed issues related to health, nutrition and education. He emphasised identifying social sector problems at the grassroots level and ensuring quick and lasting solutions.
