Bhubaneswar, Sept. 7 -- A ragging allegation surfaced at a government residential high school in Penta in Odisha's Rayagada on Monday after a senior student allegedly assaulted and subjected a junior student to harassment.

According to the allegations, the junior student was not only beaten up but was also made to carry out various tasks. A video purportedly linked to the incident was circulating on social media. However, the authenticity of the allegations has not yet been established.

Asima Rao, District Welfare Officer, Rayagada, said that the matter was being investigated and that officials were verifying the authenticity of the incident shown in the viral video.
