Bhubaneswar, March 10 -- A purported Rs 2 lakh robbery in Odisha's Rayagada district took a dramatic turn after police found that the incident was allegedly staged by an employee of a business establishment.

The accused, identified as Ranjit Kumar Dalai, had earlier reported that unidentified miscreants snatched a bag containing cash while he was on his way to deposit the money in a bank.

According to the complaint, the incident allegedly occurred on Kapilas Road on Monday afternoon when Dalai was heading to the bank with the cash. Following the report, police launched an investigation into the alleged snatching case.
