Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- Odisha Police on Monday conducted a mock drill on Monday in Puri to fine-tune security arrangements and coordination during the pulling of the three chariots ahead of the grand Rath Yatra. The exercise focused on crowd management, movement of the chariots and seamless communication among officials deployed along the Grand Road.

Police personnel were briefed on the standard operating procedures for pulling Taladhwaja, Nandighosha and Darpadalana, along with the responsibilities of different security teams during the procession.

As part of the drill, three jeeps were used as symbolic representations of Lord Balabhadra's Taladhwaja, Lord Jagannath's Nandighosha and Devi Subhadra's Darpadalana chariots. The vehicles ...
