Rath Yatra 2026: Khordha traditional weavers work round the clock to finish making Sibling Deities' attires
Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- As preparations gather momentum at Puri Srikhetra for the world-famous Rath Yatra, the crafting of the daily ceremonial garments for the deities has entered its final stage. The extensive weaving project covers all ritual attire required for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra from Snana Purnima through to Niladri Bije.
More than 15 traditional weaver families from Rautapada village in Khordha district of Odisha are currently working round the clock to complete the sacred assignment, a dedicated service they have performed for the past 30 years.
