Bhubaneswar, May 21 -- Construction of the three chariots for the world-famous Rath Yatra gained momentum. All 42 wheels required for the annual festival was completed and work is progressing on other key structural components.

With the wheel-making phase completed, construction of the axles has now commenced. A total of 21 axles are required for the three chariots. Of these, three ceremonial axles meant for the Chaka Dera ritual was already completed earlier.

Work now begun on the remaining 18 axles for the three chariots as servitors continue preparations for the annual Rath Yatra.
