Bhubaneswar, May 9 -- The Bhaunri Yatra ritual of Lord Jagannath is being observed on Saturday as preparations for the annual Rath Yatra continued at the Rathakhala in Puri. The ritual marks an important stage in the construction of the three chariots of the Sibling Deities.
As part of the traditional rituals observed on Bhaunri Tithi, the Chaka Akha Dera ritual was conducted following the Sakala Dhupa ritual. After the arrival of the Agyanmala from the three chariots of the Sibling Deities, Nahaka Chaka will be attached to the three axles.
Prior to the attachment ritual, Snana rituals of the Nahaka Chaka were conducted. Devotees were also seen offering prayers to the sacred wheels during the ceremony.
