Bhubaneswar, March 14 -- With the Rajya Sabha elections just a day away, political activity in Odisha has intensified, with major parties issuing whips and closely monitoring the movement of their legislators amid apprehensions of possible horse-trading.
Political developments gathered pace as different parties began taking precautionary steps to ensure the presence of their MLAs during the voting process scheduled to take place in the Odisha Assembly.
Within the Congress, eight MLAs are currently in Bengaluru along with PCC president Bhakta Das, while six other legislators have remained in Bhubaneswar. The development has reportedly triggered considerable dissatisfaction within the Congress legislature party.
